FRPO and the CRBP
The Federation of Rental-housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO) is the largest association in Ontario representing those who own, manage, build and finance residential rental properties.
The Certified Rental Building Program was developed by the Federation of Rental-housing Providers of Ontario to provide rental housing consumers with a quality assurance alternative they can count on when selecting their rental apartment home. It also was designed to provide property managers with a tangible way to differentiate themselves in the competitive rental marketplace.
The goal of the program is to promote professionalism in the rental housing industry while also providing tenants with a quality assurance alternative when selecting their rental home.
Now in its 6th year of operation, the CRB program has grown to include over 950 CRB-approved apartment buildings located across the province of Ontario. Over a 100,000 apartment units have been enrolled in the program with more than 225,000 tenants/residents now renting with confidence in CRB-approved buildings.
The Certified Rental Building Program is one of the flagship initiatives developed by FRPO to demonstrate the importance of a professional, quality-driven rental housing industry.
Ted Whitehead, Director of Certification has spearheaded the CRBP and it's commitment to excellence since it's inception.
Under Ted's leadership the CRBP has grown both in the number of property managers and CRB buildings, and also in consumer awareness abut the CRB quality assurance difference.
Ted continues to be a strong advocate for continuing to raise the bar on quality and service standards in the rental housing industry in Ontario.
