What is the Certified Rental
Building Program
The Certified Rental Building (CRB) Program is an industry accreditation program specifically designed and developed to assist rental housing consumers in identifying “well-run, well managed” multi-residential apartment buildings (MRAB). It is the only tenant quality assurance program of its type in the North American rental housing industry. Its primary focus is to protect tenants, and prospective tenants, from renting poor quality or poorly maintained apartment buildings through offering them a respected and credible quality assurance alternative when renting their apartment home. A CRB Program approved building must meet and be able to demonstrate a defined set of building management and tenant service Standards of Practice. These Standards of Practice are defined as those inputs and processes that go into ensuring a well run well managed MRAB product for rental housing consumers The CRB Program logo displayed on a MRAB building serves to reduce any risk a prospective rental-housing consumer might take regarding how the building will be managed or how they will be treated once they have moved into their rental home unit.
The CRB Program is the most comprehensive building certification plan ever undertaken throughout the North American Rental-Housing industry. For Property Managers, and Property Owners alike, the CRB Program represents the opportunity to distinguish their buildings from those of their competitors as being well run and well managed properties. In an ever increasing competitive marketplace, the consumer demands good quality, good service and value for their rental housing dollar. The CRB Program approved rental building provides the needed quality assurance advantage that tenants demand in a competitive market.
Vince Brescia, FRPO’s President and CEO, states: “that the goals for the CRB Program are to promote professionalism in our industry and to provide tenants with a consistent and reliable quality assurance alternative when selecting their rental home”.
