How to Bring Ease to Your Search for Quality Rental Housing

Posted by Ted Whitehead on Fri, Apr 29, 2011

With the cost of properties on a consistently disheartening rise, the rental housing market in the GTA has renters looking for the greatest quality and comfort in their living space.

Imagine this: you know where you want to live and you are overwhelmed with all the properties available in the GTA. What if in one click, you are assured of a quality rental unit in downtown Toronto that serves all your needs as a tenant? Your next step is to go on-line to www.CRBprogram.org to access multiple solutions to find the perfect building in your ideal neighbourhood that meets all your rental housing needs.

Enter the Certified Rental Building Program (or CRB Program) to save you time, effort, and sanity in finding you the rental property of your dreams.

The Certified Rental Building Program has two customers: top notch property management companies, including MetCap Living, Greenrock Property Management, and Minto, managing Certified Rental Buildings; and you, the property seeker looking for your quality-assured rental home.

With Certified Rental Building Program’s easy breezy search tool, you locate quality apartments for rent in your preferred location throughout Ontario knowing that each rental building has been approved according to the Program’s fundamental Standards of Practice. You leave satisfied with your choice of apartment to rent.

How does this happen, you ask?

Property managers across Ontario apply to have their rental buildings quality-tested using the Program’s meticulous building audit system. During the audit, a specialist from J.D. Power & Associates interviews, observes, and documents the property managers’ practices and processes. They then simulate a situation corresponding to an event that they may face while fulfilling their daily responsibilities in their rental building. From this an audit report is created to suggest steps to bring the building or community into compliance.

Upon meeting the requirements, the CRB Program Governance Committee reviews the buildings for Certified Rental Building status. For you the tenant, this means a rental building with regular cleaning schedule, properly maintained elevators, annual suite inspections, and more importantly, maximum two days in response time to your inquiries and interest paid back to you for last month’s rent.

Certified Rental Buildings are a solid bet if you are interested in a well-managed living space. And you can sleep at night knowing you’ve got a home that you can be proud of.
