With a population of over 72,300, Sarnia is the largest city in Lambton County.

Sarnia and the surrounding area of Lambton County are known as Bluewater Country for the azure blue waters of its lakes and rivers. Equally, it is the home of North America’s oil industry and has deep roots in refining and chemical productions, automotive, manufacturing, metal fabrication, and engineering. However, Sarnia is also becoming known around the world as a centre for bioindustrial manufacturing and research and development.

All 25 Sarnia Transit buses are wheelchair accessible and are equipped with a bike rack which can hold two conventional bicycles.

Transit tickets are available from a number of different locations including at the Sarnia Transit office at 1169 Michener Rd.

For those who are unable to use regular Transit service due to a physical disability, Care-a-Van provides local public transportation in the Sarnia and Point Edward areas. The Via Rail Station at 125 Green St. in Sarnia provides daily service from Sarnia to Toronto and return with stops in Brampton, Georgetown, Guelph, Kitchener, London, Malton, St. Marys, Stratford, Strathroy, Toronto, Wyoming.

In addition to the Via Train service, through a VIA Rail and Robert Q’s Airbus partnership there are 8 daily options for travel between Sarnia and London from Monday to Friday, and five on Saturdays and Sundays.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Roads” tab_id=”1563392904175-faf15086-f7bb81eb-fdcd”][vc_column_text]Highway 402 is a multiple lane highway running from the Michigan/Ontario border in the west to London and Highway 401 in the east. There are eight Highway 402 interchanges within Sarnia-Lambton.

Highway 40 runs south from Highway 402 through the Sarnia and St. Clair Township and into Chatham-Kent where it connects with Highway 401. Within Sarnia and St. Clair Township, portions of Highway 40 are four-lanes.

Highway 21 runs north from Highway 402 through the municipality of Lambton Shores where it runs parallel to the Lake Huron shoreline into Huron County and the Grey-Bruce region of Ontario.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Air” tab_id=”1563392917926-d8eb387e-09fc81eb-fdcd”][vc_column_text]Sarnia is home to Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport at 1500 Airport Road, Sarnia. Air Canada, through Air Georgian Ltd., operates direct flights to and from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport to Sarnia. From Toronto, you can access both domestic and international flights. London International Airport is located one hour driving east of Sarnia.

Detroit Metropolitan Airport offers service to major U.S. and international destinations and is just over one hour’s drive from Sarnia. Detroit Metro Shuttle Service Inc. provides transportation services between Sarnia and Detroit Metropolitan, London and Toronto Pearson International Airports.
