Barrie

Public Transit
Public transport is provided by Barrie Transit, which operates numerous bus routes within the city. Accessible transit is available through the city run Barrie Accessible Community Transportation Service. Most regular bus routes operated by Barrie Transit are accessible using low floor vehicles.
Trains & Busses
Two GO Train stations service the Barrie area: the Allandale Waterfront GO Station and the Barrie South GO Station. Regular commuter trains service the Barrie-Toronto corridor during peak hours.
Roads
Barrie is served by Provincial Highway 400, which acts as the primary route between Barrie and Toronto, and which also provides access to the major east-west highway through southern Ontario, Highway 401 and Hwy 407 ETR.
Air
The Lake Simcoe Regional Airport (LSRA), which is 10 minutes outside of Barrie, is one of Canada’s newest and most sophisticated regional airports.

The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is a regional health centre that provides healthcare in a variety of areas including; surgical services, critical care, women and children’s programs, and mental health rehabilitation. Specialized cancer care services are available through the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre.
Educate in Barrie
Barrie offers a full-range of public, separate, private and bilingual education facilities that address education needs from pre-school through kindergarten and post-secondary education. Access to diploma and degree programs on a full-time and continuing education basis are available across several campuses through Georgian College and its University Partnership Centre (UPC).

The Barrie area has a wide range of attractions for any time of year. Kempenfelt Bay is home base for much of the action including year round festivals and events, and a range of outdoor activities including a 6.71 kilometre paved and crushed gravel waterfront trail for walking, cycling and inline skating and three beaches. Barrie is also home to live theatre, art exhibits, museums and musical performances including the MacLaren Art Centre, the Mady Centre for the Performing Arts and the Georgian Theatre
